New changes for Auction Rules
Founded over 45 years ago, the Bowie Coin Club is the preeminent coin club in Prince Georges County. Originally meeting at Andrews Air Force Base, the club moved to Bowie in 1986. The membership represents a wide range of ages and collecting interests, with members who are knowledgeable about topics as diverse as ancient coins, silver dollars, error coins, medals, paper currency and world coins. Meetings are free and open to the public and guests are welcome to attend.
The club meets each month at the Bowie Senior Center, just off of US-50 at Route 197, about 7 miles east of the I-495 Beltway in Bowie, MD. Directions are on the Location page.
In addition to announcements of news of interest to collectors and a brief featured exhibit or presentation by a member, the club holds monthly auctions featuring 150 or more lots, including many United States coins, as well as foreign, Canadian and ancient coins, coin supplies, books, and more.
Club members come from Bowie and other parts of Prince Georges County, as well as Montgomery and Howard Counties, the Eastern Shore and southern Maryland. The club also has out-of-state members from 8 other states and the District of Columbia.
